Giving Is an Act of Worship

We express this truth (worshiping through our giving) by covenanting together "to contribute cheerfully and regularly (see 2 Corinthians 9:6-7) to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations," as we strive to honor the Lord with the "firstfruits" (Proverbs 3:9) of all our labor.

We often reference the scripture "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse..." (Malachi 3:10) when we give. For most of us putting an offering in the collection plate is just as important as any other part of the service. Online giving may seem to diminish the significance of the act of giving. However, it is not the method of giving that is significant, but the motive.
